The Colosseo Roma is the eternal
symbol of Rome having been constructed more than 2000
years ago - still standing the Colosseo is known the
world over although the myth that you can see this
from space is completely untrue. This particular virtual
image or 360 degree photo of the Colosseo Roma was
taken very early in the morning so the lighting is
quite poor. We are hoping to do another one but the
spoilsports at the Ministry for Arts and Culture refuse
to let use inside to take a picture... but it is ok
if you want to go in and make a home movie....
To get to the Colosseo from the Hotel
King Rome you can get a taxi or bus as far as Piazza
Venezia and then walk down the Fori Imperiali or Imperial
Roman Forum which is closed to traffic on a Sunday.
The Colosseo Rome is the most visited attraction in
Italy and at least a couple of hours should be spent
touring all the nooks and crannies of its' interior
- we at the Hotel King Rome recommend that you pay
for a guide who are available for hire outside as
they really know their stuff and will wow you with
some grizzly tales of the Colosseum's shady past.
The Colosseum Rome has recently been
controversally adorned with flurooscent lights which
make it just as spectacular in the evenings....
Did you Know? The
Colosseo could seat in excess of 60 thousand spectators...
also the Gladiator Residence Ludus Magnus which is
located on Via Labicana was connected to the Colosseo
by means of an underground tunnel stretching 200 metres...
